Dr. Anthony Hipsley
Sports and Exercise Medicine Registrar
Dr Anthony Hipsley completed a Bachelor of Medical Science at The University of Sydney in 2009 and followed this with a Doctor of Medicine at The University of Melbourne, completed in 2014. After several years working on emergency and surgical wards in the hospital system, Anthony’s passion for treating sports and musculoskeletal conditions led him to pursue specialist training through the Australasian College of Sports and Exercise Physicians.
Anthony has gained clinical expertise working with the Sandringham Zebras VFL for the last 3 years. In 2018, he has toured with the Junior Australian Swim Team to Fiji, the U15 Australian Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams to Papua New Guinea and Australian Masters Athletes to Alice Springs. He has also had ongoing roles with Motorcross Australia and the World Surf League.
In addition to his vast clinical experience, Anthony is currently conducting research on the long term outcomes of ACL injury with the Centre for Health, Exercise and Sports Medicine in Melbourne. In order to maintain the healthy lifestyle that he inspires on his patients, Anthony enjoys playing tennis, surfing and cooking.
